How The Neighborhood Works
The Neighborhood is a discovery and collaboration platform built specifically for
Black-owned businesses, spaces and events across New York City.
Your customers are already searching for Black-owned brands. Blakawout connects that intent to your profile, your story, and your offers - in one shared space.
People find you here.
Community members browse by city, category and neighborhood. They're not just looking to shop — they're looking to book spaces, hire caterers, find service providers and support businesses like yours intentionally.
We keep you visible.
Our team curates weekly roundup emails, social media highlights and editorial guides featuring businesses across the platform. Your profile is always working even when you're not.
Your profile does the work.
Once you're listed your business is searchable, your events are visible and your booking or inquiry link is front and center. People can save your profile, share it with friends and come back whenever they need you.
