Mission & Pillars
Supporting Black-Owned means:
1. Knowing who they are
2. Being able to recognize them
3. Participating in their growth through feedback & reviews
Innovation
We use technology to create faster, simpler, and more engaging experiences, continuously adapting to better connect with brands and consumers.
Community
We believe in collaboration and individuality, highlighting those who support Black brands. Your feedback helps shape our ecosystem, driving lasting change together.
Creativity & Authenticity
We champion creativity that challenges the norm, supporting brands and individuals who forge their own path and drive meaningful change.
To us, it's about building media presence and awareness for Black businesses through TV, news, and other media solutions, while also focusing systems that ensure the effective distribution and engagement of this content.
What is Media-Tech?

The Blakawout Universe
Blakawout Studios is a media-tech platform created to amplify Black voices.

We produce digital content that informs, inspire, and connect people with Black buisnesses and creators reshaping our culture — while also building digital tools to help find these communities. Our first tool The Neighborhood — a centralized hub for discovery, connection, and community.

Our long-term vision is to build an online ecosystem — by us, for us — that helps people create lasting habits around supporting Black-owned businesses with ease and trust.
About the Founder
Hi, I'm Annie! the founder at Blakawout Studios. I'm passionate about the intersection of media, technology, and advocacy. I love ideating, solving problems, and building things, so spending the last five years pouring into this platform feels like a natural extension of who I am.
A few years ago, I made a conscious decision to intentionally support local and small businesses. And if I’m thinking about it, chances are you are too. But I quickly realized there aren’t enough systems in place to help us consistently discover and support them.
In this age of communication and entertainment, people want to explore differently, and Blakawout Studios gives me the creative freedom to build tools, share stories, and add my voice to the conversation around equity and community support.
I’m so excited to have you on this journey.
Let’s take a walk down The Neighborhood!
