The Blakawout Universe

Blakawout Studios is a media-tech platform dedicated to amplifying Black voices.
We create digital content and build discovery tools that make it easy to find and connect with Black businesses, creators, and community organizers.

Our first product, The Neighborhood, is a centralized hub for discovering Black spaces, businesses, and community organizers in your area — and staying connected with them.

Our long-term vision is to build an online ecosystem — by us, for us — that strengthens everyday habits around supporting Black-owned businesses through trust, accessibility, and culture-driven storytelling.

About the Founder

Hi, I'm Annie! the founder at Blakawout. I'm passionate about the intersection of media, technology, and advocacy. I love ideating, solving problems, and building things, so spending the last five years pouring into this platform feels like a natural extension of who I am.

A few years ago, I made a conscious decision to intentionally support Black businesses whether locally or online. And if I’m thinking about it, chances are you are too. But I quickly realized there aren’t enough systems in place to help us consistently discover and support them.

In this age of communication and entertainment, people want to explore differently, and Blakawout Studios gives me the creative freedom to build tools, share stories, and add my voice to help bring that exploration to Black communities.
